Reverend Susan DeVuyst was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in River Vale NJ, a small town in Bergen County NJ. She was married at Fardale Trinity Church in Mahwah NJ. While having a family she attended her first Assembly of God church, Bethany Church, in Wyckoff NJ, where she began her training in worship ministry. Pastor has four adult children living close by in NYC, Stamford CT, and in the Hudson Valley. She makes her home in the Warwick Valley and greatly enjoys her farm property in the Appalachian Mountains.

Pastor has ministered in worship/pulpit ministry for approximately 35 years; leading worship, choirs, directing children’s musicals, children’s church (one of her favorites), nursing homes, weddings, small groups, funerals, and outreach ministries.

In April 2021, Holy Spirit spoke to Pastor's heart, and led her to answer the call to fill the pulpit at New Beginnings. When you hear from the Lord, and you wait on Him for His timing, the answer is, “Yes! Lord.” Pastor knows she is in the right place at the right time, for such a time as this.

Rev. Susan is a seasoned pianist, musician, and worship leader. Over the years, she has instructed students of all ages on the keyboard, some serving on worship teams, and some teaching others. It is time to pass the baton to the next generation, sharing the gifts that God so generously gives. She loves the outdoors, loves to fix things, loves to study, read, pray, and hang out in the presence of the Lord.
